Find nearby NPR affiliate radio stations in a client-side web app that uses javascript to run locally in your browser.

Usage

Right-click or long-press on the map to pick a location manually.

The colored blobs on the map are each radio station's "service contour", where they are protected from interference by other stations. Depending on the receiver, geography, weather, and other radio stations, you might hear a station clearly while outside of its service contour, or not hear it while inside of its service contour. Search results are ordered by distance relative to the service contour.

After your first visit the website should work without an internet connection, using a technology called "service workers".

• The background map is Toner Lite by Stamen Design, available under CC BY 4.0 and made with data from OpenStreetMap under ODbL.
